Abstract
This study verified agreement between YSR and CBCL 6-18 and did so by examining the results from adolescents with psychological disorders and their residential caregivers at welfare institutions by the types of psychological disorders, gender, and the number of comorbidity. The study subjects comprised 93 middle and high school students with psychological disorders who had been supported by a pilot project run by the Korean Child Welfare Society. The YSR and CBCL 6-18 was used as research tools. This study used Fisher`s z transformation to measure effect size. The result indicated significantly high levels of agreement between YSR and CBCL 6-18 in somatic complaints, rule-breaking behavior, social immaturity, and somatic problems. Female adolescences had much stronger correlations in somatic complaints and somatic problems than those of males. The results of this study suggest valid directions in establishing guidelines for assessment criteria when it comes to the evaluation of adolescents with psychological disorders at child welfare institutions.
